They originate from Susa, one of the oldest cities in the world. Artifacts discovered at the site with the earrings include carved cylinder seals, jewelry, beads, clay balls, and clay tablets with inscriptions recording business transactions, political history, and mathematical calculations. Earrings like these were found amongst the relics and have been reimagined and recreated for modern times.
